With over eleven million online players WoW (World of Warcraft) has become the most successful MMORP (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) and it is certainly the largest. The virtual world of Azeroth has never been more popular.
Was upon a time it was believed, by some very smart people, that the growth of World of Warcraft would reach epidemic proportions due to its fast expansion among the world's population. But it seems that statisticians and gamers are an optimistic bunch and World of Warcraft was never able to get past 14 million subscribers and has levelled out at an active and consistent 11 million monthly subscribed player list.
To all intents and purposes we can now assume that WoW has reached the height of its popularity. While other online games are losing players constantly WoW is maintaining its share of the market and its amount of players.
Why is this?
Obviously if new players are continually joining World of Warcraft, yet the numbers are not increasing, then there must be just as many players leaving the game world!
You see although World of Warcraft is highly addictive due to its engaging story lines, characters, classes and quests it can also be very frustrating to play. A great many people who would otherwise enjoy the game quit very early in their WoW careers because it is so difficult for new players to learn the ropes and level up.
Many of these people claim to enjoy the game and would like to continue playing but just get too frustrated when their character continually dies and has to restart a quest.
Unfortunately, almost every new players, and many intermediate ones, do not realise that there are WoW add-ons that can be installed as part of the game and make the whole process of reaching level 80 a lot easier.
By far the best in-game guide is the Zygor Guide which offers a plethora of game controls that makes levelling easy.
There are many advantages to using an in-game guide, such as the ability to set a waypoint on your quest location (outlined in the in-game zygor map) so you have an arrow constantly pointing you in the right direction.
The zygor guide also has a very neat characteristic in its ability to assign talent points to the most appropriate build for your character, class and playing style - all with one button click.
If more new players to WoW where to use this secret weapon, just like the more experienced players do, then they could avoid the frustration that makes them quit and lose out on the tons of fun and enjoyment they would otherwise experience.
